Hey! Privacy policies are usually full of legalese. This one is meant to tell you, clearly, what Cheap Near Beer Me uses and why. If you have questions, you can email me.
Bottom line: We use your location or chosen map area to find nearby venues. We create an anonymous account so you can contribute. If you post a price or vote, that contribution is stored in our community database. We do not run ads, sell your data, or use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Cheap Near Beer Me helps you compare beer prices at nearby bars, restaurants, breweries, and stores. You can browse without giving us your name or email. You can also submit prices, add venues, vote on listings, and optionally link your account with Sign in with Apple.
If you choose Near Me, the app asks iOS for your location at roughly 100-meter accuracy. The app uses those coordinates to:
The coordinates used for a nearby-venue request pass through our backend. We do not save them in a user-location table or attach them to a price report. Supabase may still process normal request information, such as an IP address and request logs, to operate and secure the service.
You do not have to share your device location. You can search for a city, neighborhood, ZIP code, address, or move the map instead.
The app stores your last browse mode, area name, and map coordinates in iOS UserDefaults on your device so it can reopen where you left off. Deleting the app removes that local preference.
The app uses Apple MapKit for maps, location searches, and venue searches. Search text, the search region or visible map area, device and network information, and location when authorized may be processed by Apple under Apple Maps & Privacy.
The app automatically creates a Supabase anonymous account. This gives the device a random user ID and session so you can submit and vote without creating a profile.
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple and Supabase process the sign-in token and Apple-specific account identifier. We request your name and email. Depending on your Apple choice, the email may be your address or Apple's private relay address. When Apple provides a name, we save it in your Supabase account metadata. We do not receive your Apple password.
